two children planting raised beds

Local housebuilder Crest Nicholson has supported Oakfield First School in Windsor with their aspiration to create a sensory garden, by providing and installing raised beds and topsoil on behalf of its nearby Windsor Gate development.

The previously unused outdoor area at the school has been transformed into a calming and quiet space for children to enjoy, helping them connect with nature while also supporting pollinators and local biodiversity.

By creating this nature-rich and reflective space, the project demonstrates Crest Nicholson’s commitment to supporting the community and encouraging positive environmental impact, in line with Windsor Gate being one of its first Zero Carbon Ready developments.

Eileen Guihen, Sales & Marketing Director for Crest Nicholson South said:

“I am thrilled we were able to support Oakfield First School with such a great initiative that will benefit their pupils - providing a reflective and educational space whilst improving biodiversity. Supporting local schools is just one of the ways we aim to make a positive impact in the communities we build in.”

Howard Seymour, Executive Head at Oakfield First School added:

“We’re incredibly grateful for Crest Nicholson's support, which has helped transform a disused and overgrown corner of our school into a calming, sensory-rich garden space. It’s now a peaceful retreat that all our children enjoy, and a wonderful example of how community support can have a lasting impact.”
