Located in the East of England Bedfordshire the county town of Bedford is one of England’s smallest counties. It boarders Cambridge to the North-East, Northamptonshire to the North, Buckinghamshire to the West and Hertfordshire to the South-East. As it is situated an almost identical distance from Oxford and Cambridge it is a popular destination for visitors. Along with the town itself and neighbouring Elstow, Biddenham and Kempston form the Bedford urban area.
