Creating great places where communities and wildlife can thrive together

GREAT PLACES

Creating Great
Places to Live

We always aim to deliver positive impacts in the communities where we build. Before and during development, we engage with local residents and stakeholders to listen, understand their priorities and respond to any concerns. This helps us design places that respect local character, enhance biodiversity, and deliver lasting benefits for both new and existing residents.

Through our work, we’re proud to deliver initiatives that create lasting social value and deliver positive outcomes for everyone involved, including:

Well-designed communities with access to green space and play areas for all ages

Safe, sustainable transport links including footpaths, cycleways and access to public transport

Community spaces and facilities such as schools, meeting places and public art that bring people together

Natural habitats and landscaping that support wildlife and wellbeing

Spotlight on our
BeeBox Initiative

We’ve partnered with Lancaster University to install BeeBoxes across all our show home gardens. These specially designed nesting boxes support bumblebees – vital pollinators that help maintain healthy ecosystems and vibrant gardens. Each BeeBox is carefully monitored to help us understand how bees respond to urban environments and how new homes can support biodiversity. It’s a small example of how we’re combining collaboration and research to make a positive difference for nature.

GREAT PLACES

Green Space
for Everyone

We recognise the value of green space for both wellbeing and biodiversity. Across our developments, we prioritise the inclusion of accessible green areas – from parks and play spaces to natural habitats and walking routes.

We work closely with ecologists to design developments that protect and enhance local biodiversity, creating spaces where people can connect with nature every day.

Our green spaces also play a vital role in building climate-resilient communities. Through features such as sustainable drainage systems (SuDS), we help manage surface water and reduce flood risk while also providing attractive amenity space.

Our Homes for
Nature Commitment

We’re proud to be part of the industry-wide Homes for Nature Commitment, taking action to support wildlife. Together, these small but meaningful actions help make every development a better place for nature:

Installing an average of at least one swift brick per house, providing nesting spaces for these much-loved birds

Creating hedgehog highways, helping hedgehogs move and forage safely through our neighbourhoods

Incorporating pollinator-friendly planting, supporting bees, butterflies and other vital species
