Residents at Crest Nicholson’s Bowood Gate, Wiltshire, have come together to raise funds towards the Derry Hill & Studley Heartbeat Foundation’s purchase of a defibrillator unit for the local community.

The event was hosted by Crest Nicholson as a ‘meet the neighbours’ get together, with an auction on the day raising almost £300. Earlier this year, Crest Nicholson made a valuable donation towards the defibrillator unit purchase, with the housebuilder and community’s combined efforts meaning Derry Hill & Studley Heartbeat is halfway towards its fundraising goal.

John Baumber, Committee Member at Derry Hill & Studley Heartbeat, said: “We are delighted to see the community at Bowood Gate come together to raise funds towards this lifesaving equipment. The unit is crucial to increasing the chances of survival after serious cardiac arrest, with every minute’s delay in restarting the heart leading to a reduction of around 7% in the chances of survival.”

Spokesperson Tracey Gallacher at Crest Nicholson South West, said: “We’re pleased to announce that together with our residents, the fundraising goal for the Derry Hill & Studley Heartbeat foundation is nearing the halfway mark. We hope this will prompt further donations from businesses and the wider community to this worthwhile initiative.”

John Baumber continued: “Vastern Timber, the famous suppliers of oak to rebuild Windsor Castle after the fire, has also donated £250 in recognition of the support from Bowood Gate residents.”

Bowood Gate offers a collection of traditional four bedroom homes in Wiltshire. The development benefits from excellent schools, amenities, and commuter links to Chippenham, Swindon and beyond.
