Rachael (26) and Stuart (33) Hunnisett recently purchased a brand new home at Bilham Farm, part of Crest Nicholson’s award-winning Finberry development in Ashford. The couple had been previously living in a three bedroom home on the first phase of Finberry. When they had outgrown their current home they decided to upsize and purchased a four bedroom house on the development with their children, Oscar (5) and Scarlett (2).

After the birth of their second child, Stuart and Rachael started looking for a new home as they needed more space. Rachael, who works in business development, comments: “When the pandemic started, I was working from home full time and that is when we decided it was time to upsize. At our new four bedroom home at Bilham Farm I have the luxury of having my own home office and both Oscar and Scarlett now have their own rooms.”

Stuart explains: “We absolutely love the community bond we have developed while living at Finberry, so when we decided to look for a larger house, we knew we wanted to purchase at the same development. We are lucky enough to have great neighbours who are able to babysit Scarlett and Oscar every now and again and we wouldn’t want to give up those relationships; we know that if we ever need anything we can count on our community!”

Finberry is a new village, home to a vibrant and flourishing community, which includes a community centre, sports facilities, play area and a new state of the art primary school.

Bilham Farm offers the best of modern living, and speaking about the house’s design, Rachael says: “What really stood out for us was how open, bright, airy and spacious the house was. We were looking for an open plan kitchen and dining area where we could gather together as a family after a day’s work and keep an eye on the children playing whilst we cooked. We also enjoy the garden and abundance of green spaces on the development; we regularly take Oscar and Scarlett to the park to play after school.”

Families also have access to the new state of the art Finberry Primary School rated ‘Good’ by Ofsted. Rachael adds: “We are in such a wonderful part of Kent and are well served with all the amenities we need close by. Oscar attends school on site, and we get to walk him to class every morning, another reason why we wanted to stay on the wider development!”

The family purchased their home using the Crest Nicholson Part Exchange scheme, Rachael explains: “We had originally sold our house privately but unfortunately the sale fell through because of the pandemic, and Crest Nicholson really saved the day. We wouldn’t have been able to purchase our new home without Crest Nicholson buying our old one, and another benefit was that we got to stay in the home until we moved into Bilham Farm, making the move stress-free.” Part Exchange reduces the stress off the purchaser’s hands, by removing complicated chain delays, agency fees and guarantees a cash buyer for the home.

Situated in the ‘Garden of England’, nestled close to two areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty, the High Wield and Kent Downs, Ashford offers families the best of town and countryside living.

Stuart, a store manager at Ashford Designer Outlet, says: “We couldn’t be more perfectly located to commute to work, I’m less than a 10 minute drive away from the outlet and once Rachael starts going back to the office she’ll have the option to take the high-speed train into London.” Bilham Farm is conveniently located for easy access to the M20 at Junction 10, with Ashford town centre and Ashford International station only a short drive away. Ideal for commuters, high-speed trains run regularly linking residents to London St Pancras in 38 minutes.
