Award-winning developer Crest Nicholson is celebrating after its Site Management Academy was named Best Training or Recruitment Initiative at the 2017 Housebuilder Awards.

The prestigious title is testament to Crest Nicholson’s commitment to first-class staff training and its ongoing programme to upskill future talent within the business.

The Housebuilder Awards recognise excellence within the housebuilding community and celebrate some of the best talent in the sector. The 2017 awards were judged by the brightest minds in the industry, including representatives from NHBC, Housebuilder Media, PRP and Design for Homes

The Crest Nicholson Site Management Academy, launched in late 2015, is an industry-leading scheme backed by the Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB) and Construction Industry Training Board (CITB).

Each year twelve Academy Trainees are recruited throughout the business to enter the programme, ensuring a structured successor plan for future Crest Nicholson Site Managers.

The scheme consists of two and four-year programmes, and includes a blend of practical on-site and classroom based training. Academy Trainees receive the equivalent of a CIOB level 4 or Higher Apprenticeship, qualifying them for a CSCS Site Manager card, prior to studying for Chartered MCIOB status.

Commenting on the win, Anthony Wilkinson, Head of Talent Development at Crest Nicholson, said: “Investing in our future and upskilling our team is a top priority for Crest Nicholson as we look to grow as a business. We are delighted to receive recognition for our Site Management Academy and look forward to continuing to invest in our staff and preparing our business for the future. Crest Nicholson relies on great people and the Academy embodies this commitment.”

The 2017 Housebuilders were held at the glamourous InterContinental hotel at the 02 in London.
