Crest Nicholson’s Chiltern division recently raised over £85,000 for local homeless charity, Homeless Action in Barnet (HAB), at its inaugural charity ball. The event, which took place in London on Wednesday 13th June, raised money for the local charity through a live auction and raffle ticket sales. An array of fantastic prizes were donated by Crest Nicholson’s contractors and suppliers, and bidding on lots helped the Chiltern division reach their grand total.

HAB is a charity that supports homeless men and women in the London Borough of Barnet. The charity has worked for over 20 years to support those most vulnerable across Barnet to ensure they have access to a range of essentials. HAB runs a drop-in centre in North Finchley that enables homeless people to have a hot meal, access primary health care and use shower facilities.

Jon Cook, Managing Director at Crest Nicholson Chiltern, said: “We’re extremely proud to make this donation to HAB, a fantastic charity that supports our local area. The money raised from our charity fundraising will be used to support many homeless people across Barnet, providing vital services from healthcare to tenancy support.”

Joe Lee, Chief Executive at Homeless in Action in Barnet, said: “The HAB Centre offers hope and support to hundreds of individuals in desperate need. We are helping people to break the cycle of homelessness and we believe that given the right support and opportunities, homeless people can resolve their problems.

“I would like to thank all those who organised the Crest Nicholson Chiltern Ball, all those who donated auction items and everyone who made the evening a real success. The tremendous generosity will enable us to continue our work to support some of the most vulnerable people in the community, helping them to find a safe place to call home.”
