Local housebuilder Crest Nicholson’s South division have raised over £45,000 at their golf event in aid of Young Lives vs Cancer, the charity that helps young people and their families find the strength to face everything cancer throws at them.
More than 100 Crest Nicholson employees, contractors, and suppliers gathered at Silvermere Golf Club in Cobham for a day of friendly competition on the green. The golfing was followed with an auction and raffle, featuring a talk from Hollie from Young Lives vs Cancer, who shared how funds raised are crucial in helping the charity support families facing childhood cancer.
Charlie Joseph, Managing Director for Crest Nicholson South said:
“We’re extremely proud of everyone across Crest Nicholson coming together to support Young Lives vs Cancer at this event. Our sponsorship of the charity demonstrates our commitment to the community and desire to deliver more than just homes but to help provide support for those that need it the most. This donation will help Young Lives vs Cancer with their invaluable work in the local community and beyond through the most difficult times.”
Hollie, Fundraising Engagement Manager from Young Lives vs Cancer added:
“Thank you so much for supporting Young Lives vs Cancer, the money raised will support and help so many children and young people going through the hardest of times. It was a privilege to support such an amazing event with so many enthusiastic and inspiring people.”
Young Lives vs Cancer helps children and young people and their families to face cancer and everything it throws at them. The charity provides day-to-day support through providing everything from information and guidance to clinical care and specialist play during treatment. Financial support includes helping to access grants and benefits, to liaising with schools, employers and providing help with housing issues. The charity’s Homes from Home also offer a free place to stay nearby the hospital so families can be together.
