Emily and Rob Wilcox (both early 30s), along with their two children (3 and 1 years old) decided to upsize from a three bedroom home in order to accommodate their growing family.  The family moved from Leatherhead in Surrey to Crest Nicholson’s Fernham Green development in Red Lodge where they found the perfect home which provided everything they needed, including a spacious play room for their children.

Positioned on the edge of the bustling market town of Newmarket in Suffolk, Fernham Green offers the best of both worlds thanks to its location. Surrounded by beautiful Suffolk countryside yet offering a host of amenities a stone’s throw away, the development includes a village centre, sports pavilion, primary school and allotments.

Emily comments: “We would drive past Red Lodge while driving up to Norwich to visit family, and we were very impressed by the amenities the village provided and its great travel connections. The development is ideally located, especially for Rob as it is very simple for him to reach his new job at Stansted Airport. When it came to finding the right house, Fernham Green offered a big enough home for us and plenty of green spaces for our children to play.”

Emily explains: “We were very impressed by the vibrant community at the development and are very excited for our children to grow up here. Fernham Green is very peaceful as our home is located on a cul de sac overlooking a field. We converted the study into a play room for the children, they love spending hours playing in there. Another selling point for us was the large garden, which we have highly enjoyed over the summer, and the spacious double garage.”

The development is situated between two of the major centres in the east of England, Cambridge and Bury St Edmunds and served with brilliant transport links. Conveniently located near Kennett station, with regular trains to Cambridge in under 30 minutes, Fernham Green also benefits from the A11 and A14, and for those looking to travel further afield Stansted airport can be reached by the M11.

Emily continues: “Before moving in I contacted a couple of people living at the development through social media and we have now created a group chat. I have been so delighted by how welcoming and kind people are; we organise events and play dates for our children and I know I can count on them if I ever need anything. Since moving in I created an Instagram account for our home where I can showcase the interiors and the lovely pieces we have decorated the house with.”

Three bedroom homes at Fernham Green at Kings Warren are available from £260,000. For more information about the development please call 01638 501085. Alternatively, visit the marketing suite and show homes, open seven days a week.
