Article image With strong family connections to the world heritage city, when the time came to sell her mother’s home in Bath and buy an alternative, there was only one option for Lynne Yeloglu.

Living on and off in Turkey for close to 40 years, Lynne always had a strong attachment with Bath. Her mum had lived in the city for many years and brother, Neville, has worked in Bath for 20 years and lived in and around the city for all that time.

Already a regular visitor to catch up with family and friends, Lynne decided to use the money from the sale of her mother’s house on something that would give her a base when in the UK.

And although the lure of buying a classic Georgian period property was quite strong, the on-going maintenance, repair bills and higher running costs often associated with an older building was a little off-putting.

It was during one of her Bath city visits that her brother decided to take Lynne on a walk and to look at Bath Riverside, the brand new development on the south banks of the River Avon.

Not knowing what to expect, once Lynne had walked around the development and seen first-hand what was going on, she decided there and then that was the place for her to buy.

Soon after Lynne was the proud owner of a top-floor, two-bedroom penthouse apartment in the Highgate phase, which she now uses when in Bath and where her brother now lives.

Lynne said: “When Neville suggested we take a look around this new development I wasn’t quite sure what to expect. I knew about the area but wasn’t prepared for the transformation.

“My first impression was that it was all nicely set out. Its proximity to the centre of Bath was also a big selling point as it’s so convenient to walk to and from all amenities and shops.

“The fact that it is brand new was also a big draw for me as older properties in Bath, which have high ceilings, sash windows and higher running costs did not really appeal.

“Neville is loving the lifestyle and when I visit Bath it’s so easy to walk into the city centre and enjoy all that it has to offer. It was without doubt the right decision.”

But Lynne’s involvement with the development didn’t stop there!

Because she was so pleased with her first property she decided to invest some savings in a second property which she now intends to rent out.

Lynne added: “It was an easy choice. If I was looking to rent in Bath I’d want somewhere that had good access to the centre and train station, parking and low running costs. And because the properties here are new will always place them ahead of older properties.

“I’d also like to add that Christine our sales advisor was superb. She was there every step of the way and has made the buying process for both properties very smooth indeed.”
