Robert Crysell, a 30 year old Solutions Architect in telecoms, was living in a pre-1900s three bedroom house in Suffolk when he decided to relocate to Earls Colne, Essex. Robert was drawn by Essex’s affordability which didn’t compromise on the great connections to London, where he often has to travel to for business. He wanted to upgrade to a new build home to fit all of his modern needs and found the perfect two-bedroom house at Crest Nicholson’s The Burrows, using the government backed Help to Buy: Equity Loan scheme.
Robert explains: “My work is based in Ipswich, however I also regularly have to travel to London and other areas of the UK, so a big allure of The Burrows was the connectivity. When I travel into London my commute has been cut by over an hour each way and from Kelvedon train station I can travel direct into Liverpool Street. From the development there is also quick access to the A120, M11 and major roads for when I am going further afield.”
Earls Colne is a picturesque village and home to a selection of amenities including a golf club, convenience stores, a local family butcher, florist, pharmacy, and selection of pubs. Just a short drive away, the larger towns of Colchester and Braintree offer further amenities, as well as an abundance of leisure and entertainment facilities for all ages.
Robert continues: “All the homes at The Burrows are well planned with space between each other, with their own private driveways and parking. My favourite aspect of the house is the open plan layout of the ground floor; it is great to have friends over for dinner as it is a very sociable layout, we can cook in the kitchen and entertain those in the living room at the same time. The large garden, which I have already started landscaping, is perfect to enjoy the end of summer days.”
Robert explains: “When I arrived at the development for my first viewing, I had an incredible experience from the start. The sales team was extremely knowledgeable and answered all of my questions, and also helped me through the process of the Help-to-Buy scheme. I toured the show home and was impressed by the high specification and the finishes of the home. The superb quality of the new build homes is what ultimately sold me on the development.”
One of the core benefits of a new home, is just that, it is brand new. Residents need not worry about renovations or making do with previous residents’ decisions. When moving into a brand-new home, residents can focus on making their house their own straight away. Additionally, the average new home is up to four times more energy efficient than a traditional second-hand home.
Prices for a three bedroom house start at £365,000 at The Burrows. The homes are available on the government backed Help to Buy scheme: Equity Loan, or the Crest Nicholson Smoothmove scheme is also available. For more information please call 01787 747000 or visit www.crestnicholson.com/the-burrows.
