Popular with downsizers, investors and young professionals alike, the apartments are set in an enviable location on the Severn Estuary, within easy reach of Bristol and the M5. Such was the anticipation for this picturesque development that two couples camped out for two nights ahead of the launch to secure their first choice apartments.
Gail Simmons, one of the house-hunters who camped out with her husband Richard Bailey, explained: “Richard grew up in the Bristol area, so when he was offered a lectureship at UWE Bristol we had a bit of a head start on choosing a location. Port Marine seemed like the perfect spot for us – innovative urban design with shops and cafes and with stunning views of the estuary. We knew we wanted water views and a one-bedroom apartment, so when they were released we were determined to get in there first. Richard braved it out in a sleeping bag for two nights but it was worth it to be first in line.
Ulrich Hinz, who has been living in Portishead with his wife Carol for the past eight years, added: “We were looking to downsize to something more manageable in anticipation of our retirement and Ninety4 on the Estuary was perfect for us. Just like Gail and Richard, my wife and I had our heart set on a specific apartment and camping out overnight made sure we got it. We love the buzz of the area and the design of the apartments. The real wow-factor for us is having the beautiful views of the estuary.”
For Gail Simmons and Richard Bailey, this was their first experience of buying a new-build property. Gail said: “We’ve always lived in older houses. But I have to say, buying new at a fixed price was something of a revelation. The staff have been extremely friendly and helpful, and really did their utmost to make this a stress-free experience. We’re just getting settled into our new flat now and it’s been fantastic so far.”
Laura Osborne, Senior Sales Manager at Crest Nicholson South West, said: “We’ve had a fantastic response to this last phase of our development at Port Marine, with homebuyers especially coveting the fantastic location and the design of the apartments. The lifestyle on offer here is unparalleled in the area and we would encourage prospective house-buyers to pay us a visit soon as these are our last few homes in Port Marine and once they’re gone they’re gone!”
