Three local employees at Crest Nicholson’s Monksmoor Park development in Daventry took part in a sponsored head shave on Tuesday 27th February. The event has raised £1,500 so far, which will be donated to CLIC Sargent, the cancer charity dedicated to supporting children and their families affected by cancer across the UK, amongst other organisations.
The three employees, Vic Brannan, Chris Cox, and Ben Tunney, all work onsite at Crest Nicholson’s Monksmoor Park development, which is where the head shave took place. The volunteers decided to brave the shave in support of Assistant Site Manager Vic Brannan’s granddaughter, Maddison who was recently diagnosed with Leukaemia. Maddison herself is organising the event and is hoping to raise funds to supply the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford with entertainment equipment and to support other children who are also suffering from the disease.
Vic Brannan, Assistant Site Manager at Crest Nicholson Chiltern, said: “We are all so proud of Maddison and we’re over the moon with the donations so far. These vital funds will go to supporting CLIC Sargent and other organisations Maddy has been directly involved with.”
“CLIC Sargent is a charity that is very close to our hearts, and we are glad to be able to show our commitment to this cause however, we know that Maddy would also like to help more directly by giving back, in particular to the ward, where she has received excellent care. It has been important for us to enable Maddy, as a user of these services, to determine where she thinks the money would be best distributed which is why we have set up a crowd-funding page rather than a direct fundraising page.”
David Hnyda, Sales and Marketing Director at Crest Nicholson Chiltern, said: “We’re extremely proud of Vic, Ben and Chris for raising money for this worthwhile cause, and on behalf of everyone at Crest Nicholson Chiltern I would like to say a huge well done. The funds raised from this courageous act will go towards helping more children and young people, which is a fantastic achievement.”
