“We are absolutely delighted,” explained Dominique Fossett, having made her move to Crest Nicholson’s The Chestnuts in Stowmarket, Suffolk, with husband Steven. “We’ve only just arrived here but everyone has been so welcoming from the start and there is a real community feel.”

Conveniently located just off Wagtail Drive, and surrounded by the idyllic Suffolk countryside, the Chestnuts is the final phase of Crest Nicholson’s long-established Cedar’s Park development. The developer has been building a community on-site for 18 years, creating a host of amenities for residents including a primary school, community centre, and an on-site Tesco supermarket.

Having set their hearts on a move to The Chestnuts, Dominique and Steven, both IT consultants, were able to seal their dream move thanks to the government-backed Help to Buy scheme. With just a 5% deposit, buyers are able to use the scheme to purchase properties that may previously have been out of their price range.

The couple were made aware of Help to Buy by Crest Nicholson’s sales advisors, who Dominique describes as being; “exceptionally attentive and everything we could have wanted throughout the process.” She continues; “the whole sales team went above and beyond, not only helping us with the Help to Buy process, but also with extra jobs along the way too.”

Having reserved their new home at the end of March, it took just a month for the Fossetts to move into The Chestnuts, with Steven explaining that the speed of the process was again thanks in large part to “the brilliant work of the team at Crest Nicholson”.

Dominique and Steven are now settling into their new home in the village-style community in Suffolk. “We really feel like we’ve got the best of both worlds here”, Dominique says. Residents at The Chestnuts benefit from easy access to the nearby Suffolk countryside, thanks to nearby footpaths and links to the green spaces that border the development.

The collection of four-bedroom family houses and two and three-bedroom cottages is also within walking distance of Stowmarket town centre, ideal for those searching for their first home, families, and downsizers from the area’s surrounding villages and beyond.

Having access to good transport links was particularly important for Dominique and Steven, as they both regularly travel for work. Luckily for the couple, the Chestnuts is well connected for both rail and road travel. Stowmarket Station has direct trains to London Liverpool Street in just over an hour and a half via Stratford, and the development is a short distance from the A14, providing good connections to the A12 and M25.

Homes at The Chestnuts are available from £245,000 for a two-bedroom house. To find out more about life at The Chestnuts, please visit:, call 01449 521 020, or visit the Sales & Marketing Suite between 10am and 5pm on a Sunday or Monday.
