Husband and wife, Josh and Anna Boggi, recently used Crest Nicholson’s Part Exchange scheme to purchase their first home together at The Brambles in Spencer’s Wood. Now settling into their dream home, just four miles from Reading, the couple said they would “recommend the scheme to anyone” for a stress-free move.

Finding the right home was particularly important as Josh was seriously injured whilst serving in the military, and now works as a motivational speaker, while his wife Anna works as a project manager in London for the Royal Air Force Benevolent Fund. This made the property search more challenging, as Josh’s prosthetic legs meant a town-house style property wouldn’t be suitable. The couple turned to a more accessible new build style for their first home together, which ensured wheelchair access was much easier for Josh’s home requirements.

The couple used Part Exchange to secure their new home, which made their move much more straightforward and hassle-free. Crest Nicholson acted as the couple’s guaranteed cash buyer for Josh’s previous apartment in Slough, enabling the couple to avoid costly estate agents’ fees and complicated chain delays, as the stress and pressure from moving was really taken away.

Anna and Josh were looking for a family home that was “accessible and far enough out” for them to commute to nearby Reading and London, while still enjoying a relaxed lifestyle in the countryside. Their new four-bedroom home offered the perfect solution providing quick access to the M4 and within easy reach of both their work locations.

It was also important for the family to have a spare room and plenty of living space, with Anna confirming that the spacious living room and kitchen was “what really sold it for us”. The main bedroom was also a big selling point, supporting Josh with easy wheelchair access due to its spacious size and layout. The moving process was also “perfect and surprisingly simple” as the neutral décor meant their existing furniture easily fitted into each room, without needing to buy anything new.

The development is well-suited to the couple’s needs, with their new home benefiting from plenty of parking space and great views overlooking the vast communal green space. Anna is already a regular at the local hairdressers, with the nearby convenience store an ideal destination for all household essentials, offering discounts to residents through its membership scheme. The development is also well-placed to offer the local community both the best of village life and strong urban connections to nearby towns and cities.

The Brambles benefits from a number of excellent transport links in the Berkshire area, including direct access to Reading by bus, with Anna saying the Park & Ride makes travelling in and out of the city “so much easier and quicker”. The development is also just a 15-minute drive away from the centre of Reading, while trains from Reading Station allow commuters access to London Paddington within half an hour.

The final four-bedroom home at The Brambles is available from £499,950 and available on the Help to Buy scheme*.
