New build properties deliver the highest build quality and offer the widest market appeal, according to over two thirds of house buyers surveyed in a new industry report[1]. The findings reiterate the resurgence new build homes have enjoyed in the past decade, as they now rival the attraction of their second hand and period property equivalents.

Christine Tiernan, Sales and Marketing Director, Crest Nicholson South, explains: "While this report is new, it emphasises that the appeal of new build properties remains consistent, and reflects the precision with which house builders develop for contemporary buyers.

“The majority of buyers who favour new builds do so because of the pristine condition their property is completed in. The homes don't require any modernisation or refurbishment and offer a blank canvas that owners can furnish to reflect their tastes. High end kitchens and bathrooms come as standard, minimising the hassle endured by many who have to replace sanitaryware and kitchen units before they can start decorating.

"The specification of fixtures and fittings across The Maybush at Crest Nicholson’s Kilnwood Vale development is also exceptional and, with a selection of bonus features such as Juliet balconies, accommodation across three storeys and double doors pre-installed, there is little that our buyers need to implement themselves.

“Additionally, floor plans are thoughtfully calculated from the inception of the build, unlike many period homes where the original floor plans are outdated and need adapting to accommodate contemporary lifestyles.

“This is particularly prevalent in kitchens which, in period properties, are often small and located to the periphery of the living accommodation. However, with buyers now utilising kitchens as the heart of the family home, we have implemented various measures to ensure that kitchens occupy a central point in a household. For example, in The Maybush, the kitchen combines with the breakfast area, enabling busy mums to keep an eye on their children as they eat or do their homework at the table.

"The proportion of bedrooms has also become an increasing priority for new build buyers, who have previously been frustrated by box rooms common in period properties. As such, in the Maybush property, we have ensured that all four bedrooms are generous doubles, with access to a bathroom or en suite on each floor.

“Main bedrooms remain a determining factor for house buyers too, who expect en suites to come as standard; in response to this, The Maybush offers a master en suite, offering both convenience and privacy in a busy household.

“Finally, the land around a property is shown to be of the utmost importance to potential purchasers, who don’t just want their own gardens to look attractive, but to enjoy a stunning setting as well. Given The Maybush’s tranquil, countryside location in the village of Faygate, the house not only offers landscaped communal gardens on site, but also boasts a new community green, offering residents plenty of opportunities to enjoy the open space throughout the development.”

The Maybush is arranged across three-storeys and has been designed with families in mind. The property comes equipped with a spacious living room area, a fully fitted kitchen complete with Bosch appliances, and a contemporary finish throughout.

The Maybush at Kilnwood Vale is available from £369,950. For further information, please contact the sales and marketing team on 0845 894 7873 or visit
