Homes at Crest Nicholson’s 110 at the Quay development in Port Marine, Portishead, are proving so popular that one eager couple have camped out overnight to make sure they secured their dream apartment.
Phil and Julie Penver, from Yate, were so eager to purchase their perfect plot that they slept in camping chairs outside the development’s sales suite the night before the final phase of apartments were released to make sure they were first in line the next morning.
Phil explained, “We currently live in a four bedroom detached house but now the children have grown up and have their own little ones, we thought it would be a good time to downsize.
“Port Marine has undergone a stunning transformation in recent years and when we visited with the grandchildren we fell in love with the area and just knew we wanted to buy an apartment here. We considered a number of plots at 110 at the Quay before setting our hearts on this particular two bedroom Shearwater apartment which has its own roof terrace and balcony with incredible views across the estuary.”
Phil continued, “We had already registered our interest in the final phase of apartments at 110 at the Quay before they went on sale. So when we got the call from Crest Nicholson to say they were about to become available we knew there would be lots of interest in this particular plot and decided we were prepared to do whatever we could to get that apartment.
“Our friends and family thought we were mad but we wrapped up warm with lots of layers and braved the cold, and it paid off! We’re absolutely thrilled and can’t wait to move in early next year.”
Laura Osborne, Senior Sales Manager for Crest Nicholson said: “The Penver’s decision to camp out to secure their dream home is testament to just how sought-after the apartments at 110 at the Quay have become. These homes really have the wow factor, especially those with views over the estuary.
“I’d encourage anyone looking to move in the Portishead and Bristol area to visit our stunning show home soon and speak to our staff about the variety of apartment styles we have available, before they’re all gone!“
Combining a stylish collection of 110 one, two and three bedroom apartments, 110 at the Quay is set in an enviable position near the lock gate at Port Marine. All of the high-specification apartments enjoy the benefit of their own balcony or terrace and many boast far-reaching views across the Bristol Channel.
Prices at 110 at the Quay currently start from £179,000, or £143,200 using the Help to Buy Scheme, for a Cormorant apartment. Help to Buy enables purchasers to own their own home with just five per cent deposit and 75 per cent mortgage. The remaining cost of the property is funded by a 20 per cent equity loan from the Government that is interest free for the first five years.
