Retail giant John Lewis has recently announced plans to transform the Beechwood Shopping Centre in Cheltenham. The £30 million plan to renovate the shopping centre, will invigorate Cheltenham High Street, making it the shopping hub of South West England.
The arrival of John Lewis, will have a profound effect on the shopping scene in Cheltenham by encouraging other retailers to the area. Regent Arcade Manager Scott Lahive said: "A new John Lewis can only be good news for all of the retailers on the High Street not just the Regent Arcade as there will undoubtedly be an increase in footfall as our catchment area extends”. Local residents have also welcomed the arrival of the new state of the art department store, which will be right on their doorstep.
