Achieving the Highbrook Park style

Award-winning housebuilder Crest Nicholson has teamed up with its interiors expert Andy Richardson from Claude Hooper Interiors LTD to share his top style tips to help Bristol homeowners get the look this season.

Andy is the creative mind behind the interiors at the new show homes at Highbrook Park in Bristol and a former Wedgwood designer.  He believes everyone can update their home, whatever their budget, and has identified two simple and achievable ways to get on trend which will look great in any home, regardless of shape and size.

Andy Richardson, Claude Hooper interiors, said: “Using colours is a great way to create an easy and accessible look in your room, and is sure to be a trend that will be around for a long time. Adopting a bold colour palette is a great way to create a strong look. You can use cushions and accessories to bring the room to life, as we have in the living room at Highbrook Park, and still be confident that it won’t cost the earth to update the room when you feel like a change.”

Andy continued: “Another big trend is exuding British style. This was reflected last year with an abundance of red, white and blue but has evolved for this season into a slightly vintage and earthy feel. Using a print such as check on a statement wall or introducing a fabric through accessories is a really easy way to create the look. Also decorate the house with fresh flowers to bring the English countryside in.”

Prices at Highbrook Park currently start from £349,995 for a four bedroom Middleton house, and £429,995 for a four bedroom Canterbury house. Andy’s top tips for achieving the look for less:

  • By introducing colour through accessories such as cushions, you aren’t spending money on redecorating the whole room.
  • With the bank holiday coming up, many DIY stores hold discounts or sales, so if you’re planning on redecoration it’s the perfect opportunity to grab a bargain.
  • Upcycling can be a great way to create an individual piece of furniture. Head to flea markets or second hand furniture shops to find a hidden gem!
