Surge in interest sees sales at Royal View approach half way mark

High levels of interest at one of Bath’s most talked about new buildings, Royal View, has seen 50 per cent of all available apartments being sold.

The rush in enquiries has now placed added urgency on house hunters wanting to secure a new property which not only provides stunning views of the world heritage city and overlooks the River Avon, but is within easy walking distance of Bath city centre.

Launched in March, Royal View is the stunning new phase at Bath Riverside and those who have already reserved will be able to start enjoying their new home by October when the first completions are expected to take place.

The soft curvature of the building, which helps it blend effortlessly with its landscape and waterside setting, has now triggered the imagination of house hunters looking for somewhere to live that is not only totally unique, but provides all the convenience of modern, city-centre living.

Those considering a new property in Bath will now have to act sooner rather than later to avoid missing out on what has fast become one of Bath’s most sought after addresses.

Brought to life by award-winning architects Studio Egret West, Royal View has been built predominantly from Bath Stone while thoughtfully considered features capture the distinctive character of the city’s Georgian past, safeguarding its place within Bath’s historic landscape.

A number of special design features, both inside and out, add to the unique nature of what is already a stunning addition to the development and city.

Christophe Egret from Studio Egret West said: “Inspired by some of the city’s most famous landmarks, Royal View heralds an exciting chapter in the Bath Riverside story.

“Designed using a figure of eight approach to create depth and maximise views, the building has no beginning or end. This creates a sense of fluidity across all eight floors. It purposefully contrasts with other elements of the Bath Riverside masterplan which respond to the landscape and waterside setting.

“The curved nature of the design is a real talking point and is unlike anything that has ever been seen in the Bath skyline before. Close to Victoria Bridge means it acts almost like a gate house on the crossing point of the river.

“As you walk round and round the stepped levels of the atrium you will be able to take a break amongst the Parisian-esque natural terraces to socialise and interact with your neighbours or pause to admire the hanging flowers and greenery that will drape throughout the centre, and mirror the organic surroundings.”

Christophe is also keen to highlight the creation of two new public squares which will also allow those who live here to enjoy the outdoors.

He added: “An abundance of green space will make this a beautiful place to live and creates opportunities for biodiversity and local wildlife, as will the green walls living on the building. Linking to the riverside walkways, they will create fantastic spaces for people to socialise outdoors.

“The south facing floral wall will be positioned next to the public terrace and will provide colourful seasonal displays for all to enjoy, whilst the north facing wall will champion shade-loving native species and herbaceous flowering plants, creating a visual link with the river.”
