Having moved from their London docklands flat of 15 years into a brand new, three-bedroom top floor apartment at Crest Nicholson’s Harbourside, Mike and Maggie Johnston are now enjoying to the full all that the capital of the West Country has to offer.
The couple are just loving their new city centre home which overlooks the water and according to Mike, the purchase of their new apartment, which is in the Invicta phase, was just ‘meant to be’ with two previous reservations on the property falling through.
Having made the decision to move out of their London apartment near Tower Bridge, the couple initially searched the internet for possible places to live.
It was Margaret who spotted Harbourside and having scoured the website for suitable properties came across one of the top floor apartments that not only had the space they were looking for but a south facing terrace that overlooked the historic floating harbour.
Without a moment to lose, they jumped in their car and drove to Bristol early the next morning. Being a little early, they wandered around the Millennium development area realising there and then that this was the place for them.
Unfortunately, when they met with one of the sales team they were told the property they wanted had been reserved the afternoon before! The couple, despondent, then headed back to London to decide their next move.
It was about a month later when Mike received a call from the Crest team saying that the property was back on the market. So the next morning the couple were back in Bristol and reserved their new apartment.
Mike said: “The Harbourside regeneration is impressive and Bristol as a city is so vibrant. Having lived in London for so long moving to the West Country is like a breath of fresh air.
“Clearly Bristol isn’t as big as London but it is a regional hub and because it’s a city it still benefits from everything you’d want from a major metropolis. It’s just full of restaurants and eateries that never end. There is also a lot of culture and entertainment and there’s always something going on.
“There is just so much history associated with the city and because the development is right in its heart means we can walk everywhere. The water taxi is also handy, it even goes to Temple Meads railway station.
“We wanted to move to another apartment as all the external and communal maintenance is taken care of. These apartments have quality fittings and are well insulated from both the noise and heat points of view. They are value for money, and Crest Nicholson gives their own two year guarantee”.
With availability at the popular development fast running out, anyone thinking about moving to what has become a major regeneration success for the city, needs to act quickly.
Mike added: “You can really appreciate the regeneration of the area and how it has been opened up for people to live, work and relax. It’s easy to see why it has proved so popular.
“We’ve noticed a marked change in our lives. We are both much more relaxed and are very happy indeed.”
Susan Young, sales and marketing director at Crest Nicholson said: “The Johnstons are typical of many people who have found the properties, the specification and location of the development the perfect blend for the lifestyle they’ve been looking for and it’s great to hear they are now enjoying all that this great city has to offer.”
