The Stour Academy Trust holds Consultation at Finberry for future Primary School

The consultation evening is being held on 19th March by The Stour Academy Trust regarding the proposal for entering into a funding agreement with the Secretary of State for the establishment of a new primary school at Finberry.

In July 2014, Kent County Council invited proposals from school providers to establish a new two form entry primary school that will serve as the heart of the Finberry development.  The school will include a Specialist Resource Base Provision for pupils with behavioural, emotional and social needs.  The Stour Academy Trust responded to the invitation and was recently notified of its success.  The trust is now consulting on whether to enter into a funding agreement for the establishment of the school.

The school is to be located at Finberry as part of the village centre plans, however it would initially open in September 2015 in premises located off site at Jemmett Road, Ashford, TN23 4QE.  On completion of the new school building at Finberry the school would relocate, this is proposed for September 2016.

If you would like to discuss the proposal or to find out more about the school please join us on 19th March between 4pm and 5pm at the Finberry marketing suite, this will provide you with the opportunity to meet with the Chief Executive Officer of The Stour Academy Trust and other senior members of staff and to find out more about this exciting new project.  More information can be found at www.education.gov.uk/academies.
