First Time Buyers Get a Boost at Base

Research has recently revealed just how the credit crunch has affected first-time buyers* with one in four now needing help from a parent to help fund their step onto the property ladder. For those who aren’t able to call on a family member for help, housebuilder Crest Nicholson is giving first-time buyers at BASE assistance to get on the ladder with the EasyBuy scheme, which allows buyers to pay just 75% of a property’s asking price.

EasyBuy is a Crest Nicholson incentive designed to help purchasers struggling to buy their own home. With EasyBuy purchasers can own 100% of their own home and pay only 75% of the price. Purchasers pay no rent or interest for the first five years and the outstanding loan amount is paid back as a percentage of the property’s value at any time up to resale or after 10 years, whichever comes sooner.

Annette Cole, Sales & Marketing Director for Crest Nicholson Eastern, said: “We recognise that stepping onto the property ladder for the first time can be extremely difficult for some buyers, especially if they don’t have help.

“Crest Nicholson has always been committed to helping first-time buyers realise their dream of home ownership and schemes like EasyBuy continue to prove extremely popular as they enable many buyers to own their home when they might otherwise not have been able to do so. With the scheme, a one-bedroom apartment priced at £172,500 becomes a more affordable £129,375 whilst two-bedroom apartments priced at £227,000 become £170,250.”

Base 7, comprising a mix of one and two-bedroom contemporary apartments, is the final phase to be launched at the development. Interested purchasers can visit a contemporary show apartment to get a real feel for how their home could be.

Apartments at BASE provide an ideal, hassle free home for busy professionals and first-time-buyers; all homes include fully fitted kitchens that feature a comprehensive range of integrated Bosch appliances including a fridge/freezer and washer dryer – easing the burden of starting from scratch and taking the stress out of moving home. Most residents can also enjoy their own private balcony and each apartment benefits from lift access and allocated parking.

Located in the heart of Brentwood, the development is set within an attractive landscaped area just a short walk from the retail and leisure facilities of the town, including a wide range of bars, cafes and restaurants as well as major high street shops.

Within easy walking distance, Brentwood Train Station provides a direct 40 minute service into Liverpool Street Station, making the morning commute and access to the hustle and bustle of London simple.
