New residents, Jas Baidwan and Mandeep Dhillon, are celebrating the start of their new lives together after getting engaged at their new home in Crest Nicholson’s Fairfield Gardens development in Stotfold.

Jas and Mandeep had been taking a final tour of the property before moving in, when Mandeep got down on one knee and popped the question. Jas said, ‘It was a massive surprise, I was gobsmacked! We’re so happy with our new home and this was the icing on the cake.’

Mandeep had enlisted the help of Crest Nicholson sales advisors, Matt and Michaela, to carry out his plans and the whole sales team was eagerly waiting to hear the news. ‘I had the idea when I visited the house a few weeks ago, and planned the surprise with the sales team’ said Mandeep. The team was on hand with flowers, champagne and a gift to congratulate the happy couple once Jas said ‘yes’. ‘The whole team was in tears! I’m very sentimental, and this is a memory that I’ll never forget,’ said Jas.

Having been on the hunt for a first home together, the couple were delighted to find their dream house at Fairfield Gardens, which is situated adjacent to the ever-popular Fairfield Park. Mandeep said, ‘We’d been putting money aside for some time, saving up so that we could afford something that we really loved. The house is exactly what we were hoping for, and the location is ideal for us.’

‘I’ve been living ten minutes from central London for years now, so it’s nice to find somewhere quieter. I was deadset on Letchworth, it has such a lovely feel to it, a real community vibe,’ said Jas.

The couple have purchased The Amersham at Fairfield Gardens, a three-bedroom semi-detached house. Using the government’s Help to Buy scheme, which enables buyers to secure their dream home with just a 5% deposit, Jas and Mandeep found their savings went much further. ‘The process was seamless, and made buying a house so much simpler,’ said Mandeep. The development is hugely popular with first time buyers, as 90% of purchases made to date have been through the Help to Buy scheme.

‘Crest Nicholson has been absolutely amazing throughout. The sales team at Fairfield Gardens have been so accommodating, and are a real credit to the company,’ said Jas.

Homes at Fairfield Gardens start from £334,950 for a two-bedroom house, or just £267,960 on the Help to Buy scheme. To find out more about this property, and Fairfield Gardens, call 01462 502014 or visit
