23-year old Josh Kerridge has purchased his first home, a spacious two bedroom apartment at Crest Nicholson’s desirable Vista development, located off Woodbridge Road, Ipswich.
Josh bought the apartment for £142,500, moving in at the beginning of October. He had been saving for the property since he was 18, and was also eligible for the Government’s Help-to-Buy scheme, which enabled him to make the purchase.
Prior to moving to Vista, Josh lived with his parents in Wickham Market. The move to Ipswich comes as a welcome change for Josh, who says “there is a lot more going on in Ipswich; bars, pubs, and great restaurants all on your doorstep!” Vista is situated within walking distance of the town’s historic dockside, and just one mile from the town centre, which is currently undergoing a multi-million pound regeneration.
For Josh, a Highway Engineer for Suffolk County Council, driving to work takes just ten minutes from his new home, a huge improvement on his hour-long round trip prior to moving to Ipswich. Josh is also a part-time Civil Engineering student, spending one day per week studying at the nearby Suffolk University campus.
Josh viewed a number of places before looking around Vista, and he recalls “I walked into the development and knew straight away I wanted to purchase my home here. The whole development has been really well put together, and everything looks very modern.”
Since moving into his new home, Josh has not needed to make many changes to the property itself, simply fitting blinds and a couple of shelving units. Josh notes that his favourite aspect of the property is the far-reaching views over the whole of Ipswich from his kitchen window, given the development’s elevated position.
Homes at Vista are still available, with prices starting from £228,000 on the Help to Buy scheme. The Crest Nicholson marketing suite and show homes are open daily from 10am to 5pm, call 0870 757 8182Back
