House hunters on the lookout for a designer apartment in Bath are being steered to Crest Nicholson’s prestigious Bath Riverside development - before the first phase is completely sold out.
Called Liberty Gardens the first phase is made up of three buildings called Palladian, Imperial and Highgate and includes a variety of properties from studio, one, two and three-bedroom apartments and penthouses.
Sales and marketing director Susan Young said the first phase of the scheme – which is a key element in the multi-million pound re-generation of the city’s riverside scene – had proved particularly popular with a range of buyers wanting to live next to the River Avon and close to the centre of Bath.
Susan said: “We have seen some interesting trends in the first phase of the Liberty Gardens development, where the studio, one and two-bedroom apartments have proved particularly popular.
“With sales of these property types going particularly well, anyone wanting to secure their own river side pad will need to act now.”
Susan’s advice is well founded with only one studio, one one-bed and five two-bedroom apartments left in the Highgate building.
She added: “Bath Riverside has become a familiar landmark on the city-centre scene and some people might assume there is an unlimited supply of smart apartments just waiting for them to make their move.
“But these apartments aren’t going to be available for ever. It’ll be some time before we start on the next phase of apartments so those imagining they can bide their time before making an inquiry could end up disappointed as the last few are snapped up.”
Within walking distance of the centre of Bath and handy for a range of supermarkets, trendy bars and restaurants, the Bath Riverside is presently being extended westwards – replacing derelict offices, commercial property and the eyesore gas tower.
Sales to date total around 180 properties on the 44-acre site with a further 1,700 scheduled for the development which is expected to take at least another 12 years to complete.
Just an hour and a half train journey from London Paddington, the top drawer properties are proving just as popular with investors, downsizers, first time buyers, young professionals and those just wanting a change of scene – which is putting further pressure on supply.
Susan added: “As we continue to make progress on further phases new apartments will become available, but we’re down to just seven in this phase of the development so people really will have to hurry to secure theirs by the Spring.”
