When Cathie and Archie Neill decided to move to Worcestershire after almost 20 years of living in Texas, Bretforton Village quickly became the obvious best choice for the couple.

Crest Nicholson’s sought-after development offered beautifully designed houses set in stunning Cotswold surroundings, easy reach of their son and his family, plus the added comfort and assurance that comes with buying a new build property.

Cathie, said: "Living in Texas was fantastic but we wanted to spend more time with our family back here in the UK. When we started our search, we knew we didn’t want a project and the hassle that comes with older properties, so a new build house was firmly top of our list. We shopped around and were completely wowed by the quality of the homes at Bretforton Village. We really liked that although these are new homes, they’ve been designed to be in keeping with the area’s traditional architecture, meaning they still have a lot of soul.

“We chose a Caldwick house because it was important to us to have lots of space for when our family comes to visit. The house is perfect for us. We particularly like the big open kitchen; cooking is so much more fun when you socialise while getting dinner ready. Having a new build property for our retirement is ideal as it means there’s absolutely no work or refurbishment that needs to be done – we can just sit back and have fun with our grandchildren.”

But it wasn’t just the quality of the homes which impressed the Neill’s; the high level of service they received throughout the buying process was a key factor in their choosing Bretforton Village over other similar new build schemes.

Cathie continued: “The sales team were absolutely outstanding, helping to make this a very smooth process indeed. They were always on hand to answer any questions we had, nothing was ever too much trouble.  I can’t tell you what a difference that makes, as buying a house can be very stressful, let alone when you’re moving from another country.

“As well as the sales team, we’ve also got to know the site manager really well, which has provided us with added reassurance. We only moved in a few months ago but we already feel very much at home here, it’s got a real community feel.”

Fond of country walks and a touch of history, Cathie and Archie make regular trips to surrounding towns like nearby Broadway and are regulars at the local National Trust-owned pub, The Fleece. Cathie, added: “There is so much to do, so many beautiful places to go. We absolutely love it here.”

Nestled on the outskirts of a prosperous farming village, Bretforton Village offers a range of traditionally detailed three, four and five bedroom homes designed to blend beautifully with the local village character. For modern homeowners it creates the perfect family environment on the edge of the Cotswolds, while giving excellent links to larger centres such as Evesham, Oxford and Birmingham.

Prices at Bretforton Village using Help to Buy currently start from £324,760 for a four bedroom Caldwick House, and £343,960 for a four bedroom Tetbury house.

Help to Buy enables purchasers to own their own home with just a five per cent deposit and a 75 per cent mortgage. The remaining cost of the property is funded by a 20 per cent equity loan from the Government that is interest free for the first five years.
