Article image Moving from the family home of 40 years into a brand new apartment on the banks of the River Avon has opened up a whole new lifestyle for one resident of Bath’s leading property development.

A local to Bath for 50 years, Suzy Price is now loving life in her two-bedroom apartment in Royal View, the acclaimed building which forms part of Crest Nicholson’s multi-award winning Bath Riverside.

It was after her husband sadly passed away that Suzy realised the old family home was way too big for her needs and that a change of scene was well and truly needed.

Knowing the city well, Suzy was fully aware of the work to regenerate the former Stothert & Pitt, Founders and Engineers into a desirable new residential quarter better suited to the needs of a modern-day Bath.

So, having looked at a number of properties across the city, once Suzy had visited the development and seen Royal View, she knew then that it was the place for her.

She is now the proud owner of a new apartment which overlooks the river and boasts one of the largest balconies in the whole phase.

Suzy said: “At first it was all a little daunting as I had so many possessions living in such a big house but I soon realised I didn’t need most of what I had and I’ve de-cluttered so much – it’s been quite liberating and I’m enjoying a whole new life.

“Although the thought of moving into something perhaps not as big was a little overwhelming at first, I would totally recommend the downsizing idea – once you do it you realise you don’t need a lot of the stuff you own. It’s just so easy living here.

“The beauty of my new home is that it is totally brand new. It’s got state-of-the-art appliances and there is literally no maintenance.

“I recently returned from a holiday in Grand Canaria and whereas before on my return I would spend time clearing up leaves, branches and all sorts of debris, now I just return home and relax!

“I’ve also found the location very convenient as I can now walk into town along the flat, level tow path or Upper Bristol Road. In the past I would have had to drive or get a taxi so it’s a whole new and better way to live.

“The other great thing I’ve found is that it’s very social living here. In my old house I wouldn’t see anyone but now I get to see all the coming and goings along the river.

“I moved in at the beginning of November last year so was one of the first residents to move into Royal View. Since then I’ve made a load of new friends and we’ve had cocktail parties and are always popping in to catch up with each other.

“I used to renovate properties as my profession so know the property sector quite well and I think this is a real hotspot, especially when the new phase Sovereign Point is finished. The park between each building is going to be a fantastic place to relax and enjoy the outdoors. The summer is going to be just fabulous.”
