Success for Firepool Lock in Sunday Times British Homes Awards

Award-winning housebuilder Crest Nicholson has won a prestigious Sunday Times British Homes Award 2014 for its development of new homes at Firepool Lock, Taunton.

Crest Nicholson secured the award for Best Standard House Type in the UK for its inspiring collection of apartments, coach houses, houses and waterfront Villas designed by architects Stride Treglown.

Set in a stunning waterside position alongside the Bridgewater and Taunton Canal, Firepool Lock has proved a great success with house-hunters.  The development is an integral part of the multi-million pound Project Taunton regeneration scheme and is particularly ideal for commuters, being just a 40 minute train ride from Bristol and within easy access of the M5.

The Sunday Times British Homes Awards 2014 took place at The London Marriot Grosvenor Square and is universally recognised as the country’s most highly respected awards for design and construction excellence.

Commenting on the accolade, Sandra Dixon, Sales and Marketing Director at Crest Nicholson South West, said: “We’re thrilled to have received such a highly sought-after award for our homes at Firepool Lock; a stunning development which combines amazing water views and unique contemporary architecture to create one of the most enviable addresses in the region.

“The British Home Awards set an incredibly high standard for design and innovative excellence in the construction industry, and winning the Best Standard House Type is a testament to the quality of our homes at Firepool Lock which have quickly become one of the area’s most sought after addresses.”

Dominic Eaton, director of Stride Treglown who runs the residential team, said: “We couldn’t be happier with the success of Firepool Lock.  It’s always a great honour to see your work recognised with such a respected accolade as the Sunday Times British Homes Awards.”
