Jodi Furneaux, her partner, Paul McCullock, and their eight-week old baby recently moved to Crest Nicholson’s Westvale Park development in Horley. Having previously occupied a shared ownership property in Epsom, the couple found their transition to Horley “really easy and supportive” with Crest Nicholson, as Jodi was heavily pregnant with her first child during the moving process.

Proximity to Gatwick airport was important, as Jodi is a paramedic in the area and Paul now also works there as a Cargo employee. They purchased a three-bedroom property for £469,500 using the “quick and simple” Help to Buy scheme*. Jodi commented that they felt “really lucky” as they got to choose their dream home and had first pick of the new properties available.

Their new home is perfect for their new-born baby, Fynlie Bleu, as they will soon be opposite a local park, something the family are really looking forward to. As Paul was familiar with the construction sector thanks to his previous job as a contractor, the couple were clear that they “weren’t looking for a concrete jungle” and are delighted to be living on a very quiet road looking out onto local fields.

Jodi said they also “didn’t need to do anything” after moving in, as everything was brand new and nicely decorated, which was one of the perks of buying a new-build. She said the house stood out to them thanks to the high specification finishes, as they would rather “pay more to receive good quality” and this has certainly paid off for the new family. The property offers spacious rooms and Jodi commented on just how “everything is wide and big” enough for their family to grow, and for that reason stood out from other new build options in the local area.

The family were looking for a more affordable area in Surrey that meant they could stay within easy reach of their family and friends. Westvale Park offered an ideal solution, as they “got the house they really wanted” while remaining within 30-minutes of their loved ones.

Jodi and Paul are already making plans for their new home and are planning to add a breakfast bar in the next few weeks to keep their kitchen area the hub of family life. There are also plenty of family-friendly activities and excursions in Horley to welcome Jodi, Paul and Fynlie to the area, including Godstone Farm just 22-minutes away and Tilegate Park only 21-minutes by car, both perfect for a family day out.

Three-bedroom homes at Westvale Park are available to move into now from £449,950 and many are available using the Government’s Help to Buy* scheme. For more information, please call 01293 977980 or visit https://www.crestnicholson.com/westvale-park/.
