Last week 25 pupils at Sydenham High School enjoyed an educational visit to Crest Nicholson’s Wells Park Place development in Sydenham Hill. The pupils, aged between seven and ten years old, are members of the school’s ‘Grand Designs’ club, and the visit was an opportunity for the students to learn more about the way homes are designed and constructed.
As part of the visit, the students were given a talk on how the site was created and the various stages of its progress by Crest Nicholson’s Production Director, Mark Graves. The schoolchildren then met Crest Nicholson’s Senior Design Manager, James Jackson, who explained the design process and how he worked with the architects to consider the natural habitat of the area to enhance the far-reaching views at the development.
Sean Ruane, Sales and Marketing Director at Crest Nicholson London, said: “It was great to see the students from Sydenham High School showing a genuine interest in how our Wells Park Place development has been designed and constructed. At Crest Nicholson, we recognise the importance of supporting the communities in which we develop, which is why we were pleased to welcome the pupils from Sydenham High School to our development.”
Claire Boyd, Head of Junior School at Sydenham High School, said: “The visit to the Crest Nicholson site gave our pupils a fascinating insight into the design process and collaborative work that goes into bringing an exciting project like Wells Park Place to life.
“The team were really welcoming and presented the work they do in an exciting and digestible way; the afternoon has inspired a swathe of future designers and engineers!”
Wells Park Place comprises a selection of four-bedroom town houses and last remaining two and three-bedroom apartments, and is positioned on Wells Park Road, a short walk from the school.
