In contrast to recent Government statistics which reveal that the number of new homes being built in the UK is falling*, award-winning developer Crest Nicholson has released for sale a new selection of three-bedroom houses at its Centenary Quay development in Woolston, Southampton. The three storey townhouses have been launched ahead of schedule in order to keep up with demand at Centenary Quay, where 87 of the 95 homes released to date have sold since the site launched in April last year.
The nine, three-bedroom homes are the last houses to be released in the first phase at Centenary Quay. Phase two, comprising one, two and three-bedroom apartments, is scheduled for launch this summer.
Susan Young, Sales & Marketing Director for Crest Nicholson Regeneration, said: “These homes were initially planned for release later this summer. Due to demand, however, we brought forward the build schedule to enable buyers to move in to their new home in time to enjoy the summer months and make the most of living by the river.
“We released three-bedroom houses for sale at various stages throughout last year and they all sold out quickly, which was particularly encouraging given the economic climate. Over the past few months we have received a very high number of enquiries about the three-bedroom houses so we are delighted to be able to bring this new wave of homes to market ahead of schedule.
“The homes are appealing in particular to growing families who are keen for extra space and decent sized gardens situated within a safe environment. Homes have been designed into neighbourhoods, encouraging a community-led atmosphere. The river location is ideal for those who like to be close to nature and enjoy relaxing walks along the riverbanks.”
Susan concludes: “With only nine homes available and the next release of houses not due until 2013, interested buyers will need to be swift if they don’t want to miss out.”
Arranged across three floors, homes provide generous living space for families. The kitchen/breakfast room are located on the ground floor, along with a W.C. and two storage cupboards. The living room which overlooks the back garden is situated on the first floor together with the third bedroom which benefits from a private balcony, the family bathroom and a storage cupboard. The second floor comprises the master bedroom with an ensuite shower room, the second bedroom and the airing cupboard. Homes boast good-sized gardens, all fully turfed and ready for the summer.
When complete, Centenary Quay will deliver 1,620 new homes in total providing accommodation for around 3000 residents, significantly regenerating the riverside of Woolston. The seven year investment programme covers an overall area of 31 acres and will provide a range of restaurants and cafes, a supermarket, several community facilities including a nursery and a library, a children’s play area, Primary Care Trust facility and a new marine quarter to meet the needs of the marine industry.
