As school summer holidays get into full swing, national housebuilder Crest Nicholson Regeneration has ensured local school pupils are aware of the risks associated with building sites.
With construction now underway on the central phase of the Park Central residential development in Birmingham, Crest Nicholson invited pupils from St. Thomas CE Primary School on a site visit to learn about hazards on building sites – in a bid to ensure pupils don’t venture onto the construction site during the summer break.
Site managers from Park Central also led an interactive assembly with the 10 and 11 year old pupils to highlight the importance of safety onsite, and to help mark Child Safety Week, organised by the Child Accident Prevention Trust (CAPT).
Pete Bayliss, project manager at Park Central, said: “The site safety assembly and visit offered a perfect opportunity to teach pupils the importance of staying away from live construction sites as pupils break up for the summer holidays. Crest Nicholson is committed to supporting safety practices and policies onsite, not just amongst employees, but also in the wider community.
“When this project began 10 years ago, our mission was to create a long-lasting and sustainable community at Park Central where people have the space to grow and develop. This remains our mission as construction starts on the next phase.”
The site safety assembly and visit at St. Thomas’ school – which is located on Great Colmore Street adjacent to Park Central – highlights Crest Nicholson Regeneration’s on-going commitment to supporting local schools and communities. Named Central Plaza, the new residential phase will deliver 132 new one and two bedroom apartments in two residential buildings sitting over a 139 space undercroft car park. The striking new buildings will be located at the heart of the development and will link together the eight acres of landscaped parkland at Park Central, including the Moonlit Park, Wildflower Meadow and Sunset Park. In keeping with the existing green spaces, the central phase will boast a combination of green roof planting and high-quality paved areas for residents’ use.
Apartments are currently being sold in the Lower Parkside phase at Park Central, starting in price from just £143,500 for a two bedroom contemporary property. Built with an open plan design and fitted with designer kitchens and bathrooms, all apartments boast spacious balconies for home owners to enjoy the green views on offer – making Park Central really stand out in the local market place.
