High-flyers at Park Central recognised at national awards

Continuing the trend of award-winners at the Park Central development in Birmingham, yet another of Crest Nicholson’s employees has been shortlisted for a prestigious national award.

Pete Bayliss has been shortlisted for the Construction Manager of the Year Award for residential projects up to £15 million, after he was nominated by his line manager, Darren Wright, contracts executive at Crest Nicholson Regeneration.

Pete was nominated for his work as a senior build manager on the Lower Parkside phase of Park Central – managing the build and completion of 80 luxury one and two bed apartments and 27 houses. Proving just how popular Lower Parkside has been, 78 per cent of the homes have already been sold.

Pete completed a series of challenging stages following his nomination, with a site visit conducted by the judging panel on 8th July, before a gruelling formal interview and presentation on 18th July at the Thistle Hotel in Birmingham.

Pete said: “Park Central is a large-scale development which has taken shape over several years and I’ve been involved on the project from the very start. A big challenge has been dealing with the practicalities of having the public move around a live site whilst keeping active construction away from them.

“I’m honoured to have been shortlisted for the Construction Manager of the Year Awards. I believe strongly in the value of teamwork, and the importance of having the right people on board at the right stage in the construction process.

“For me, it’s really about creating an environment where each discipline fits and works together. We operate in a challenging environment where things are changing all the time and flexibility is key, but I try to promote a family ethos, so that each member of the team feels valued and supported.”

The winner of the awards will be announced at the Grosvenor House Hotel in London on 1st November.

Apartments are currently being sold at the Lower Parkside phase of Park Central, starting in price from just £143,500 for a two bedroom contemporary property. Built with an open plan design and fitted with designer kitchens and bathrooms, all apartments boast spacious balconies for home owners to relax and enjoy the green views on offer.
