Think Buying a New Home is Impossible? Base Will Make You Think Again

If you think buying a new home in 2013 is beyond you, think again; this weekend (19th & 20th January), Crest Nicholson is giving buyers a helping hand at its Base development in Brentwood. Buyers who reserve this weekend can choose from a range of purchasing schemes to suit their circumstances and budget.

Two-bedroom apartments in the current and final phase of Base can have their Stamp Duty paid by Crest Nicholson and also receive a year’s season travel ticket into London, or they can take advantage of the EasyBuy or Government-backed NewBuy scheme.

EasyBuy is a Crest Nicholson incentive designed to help purchasers struggling to buy their own home. With EasyBuy purchasers can own 100% of their own home and pay only 75% of the price. Purchasers pay no rent or interest for the first five years and the outstanding loan amount is paid back as a percentage of the property’s value at any time up to resale or after 10 years, whichever comes sooner.

With NewBuy, purchasers only need a 5% deposit to get on the ladder; a far cry from the typical 20%-25% deposit still required by many mortgage lenders. The great thing about NewBuy is that it is available not only to first-time buyers but also to existing homeowners who have little equity in their current property and are unable to raise the necessary funds to upgrade to a larger home that better suits their requirements.

Annette Cole, Sales & Marketing Director for Crest Nicholson Eastern, said: “Many people think that stepping onto the property ladder may be an impossible dream but that might not necessarily be the case. The schemes we offer at Base have helped many first time buyers purchase their own home long before they thought they would be able to afford to be a property owner. Potential buyers should speak with our experienced sales team this weekend to find out how they can purchase their first home in an affordable way which suits their circumstances.”

Prices for current availability at Base start from £219,500 for a two-bedroom apartment. For further information about the information day or investing at Base, please contact the sales and marketing suite to speak to a sales advisors, or alternatively call 0870 751 3594 or visit
