The summer sun was shining as local families cooled down with ice creams and iced coffees at the Arborfield Green Summer Fete on Saturday 14th July. The event, organised by Crest Nicholson, was held at the Arborfield Green Community Centre, where a variety of local businesses and community groups were on hand with information and activities. The Fete brought together different parts of the community and was sponsored by both Crest Nicholson and Aldershot Garrison.
Residents had the chance to win a copy of the new Arborfield Military Wives Choir album and meet the Royal British Legion - Arborfield and Barkham District Branch. Families were invited to Bring Your Own Picnic, whilst activities for the younger residents of Arborfield Green included face painting, arts and crafts, a variety of fair games, and of course a bouncy castle!
Sweet treats were on offer from local businesses, Rachel’s Fudge and Cup of Rosie. The Fete was also attended by Places Leisure, who manage the newly opened Arborfield Green Leisure Centre, Alex Barrie from 1 Body and Wokingham Borough Sports Team, all of whom were on hand to promote sports, leisure and wellness.
Sammie Bryans, Development Director at Crest Nicholson, said:
“We are very proud to have hosted the very well attended Summer Fete for both the new and existing community at Arborfield Green. The afternoon was fun-filled and also informative, with great community spirit. We are developing a calendar of regular events and look forward to our next event at Christmas as the community continues to grow with the launch of new homes at Barkham Place.”
