This weekend (Saturday 16th & Sunday 17th June) sees the launch of Phase 2 at Crest Nicholson’s Centenary Quay development in Woolston, Southampton. The new phase comprises 65 one and two-bedroom apartments; the first wave of homes will be ready to move into next year.
Susan Young, Sales & Marketing Director for Crest Nicholson Regeneration, said: “When we launched Centenary Quay just over a year ago, we didn’t expect to be launching the second phase so soon. Although we had received a tremendous amount of interest and positive response prior to the initial launch, homes sold far more quickly than we anticipated. As a result, we are releasing Phase 2 ahead of schedule to cope with demand.
“Centenary Quay has been a real success story from the start; every release of properties within Phase 1 had to be brought forward as homes sold so swiftly. The high quality of the design and specification together with the riverside location, community atmosphere and forthcoming facilities, appeal to a wide range of purchasers, from first time buyers, young professionals and growing families to investors and downsizers.
“As the homes are brand-new, homeowners don’t need to worry about any unexpected costs, such as repairing or replacing old boilers, repairing the roof or even redecorating. This peace of mind is particularly attracting buyers who are purchasing their very first home and are wary of hidden costs. They can relax safe in the knowledge that they are buying a very high quality home.”
Apartments are designed in contemporary open-plan layouts with private balconies leading from the living areas. Thanks to the East-West orientation, homes are flooded with natural light in the mornings and evenings. Homes feature Commodore kitchens and master bedrooms with built-in wardrobes. Two and three-bedroom apartments also benefit from an ensuite bathroom to the master bedroom. Bathrooms feature Roca Gap sanitary ware with Porcelanosa tiles. Furthermore, every home comes with a private parking space – a rarity in new build developments.
87 homes are now occupied on site, helping to create a strong community atmosphere. When complete, Centenary Quay will deliver 1,620 new homes in total providing accommodation for around 3000 residents, significantly regenerating the riverside of Woolston. The seven year investment programme covers an overall area of 31 acres and will provide a range of restaurants and cafes, a supermarket, several community facilities including a nursery and a library, a children’s play area, Primary Care Trust facility and a new marine quarter to meet the needs of the marine industry.
Centenary Quay will also boast strong eco-credentials, with all new properties in the first phase of the development designed to meet the Code for Sustainable Homes level 3. Across the new buildings, around 15,000 sq m of green eco-roofs will help preserve flora and fauna and new public and private green spaces will be irrigated by rainwater through an ecologically sustainable urban drainage system. Surplus water will also be used to irrigate new river terraces being created on the foreshore.
