Regarded as one of the highest accolades in the construction business, Jim Nicol, Site Manager at Crest Nicholson Eastern, has again won a ‘Pride in the Job 2014 Quality Award’ at the NHBC’s annual Awards. These awards recognise Jim’s exceptional work at the company’s Rosewood development, in Colchester.
Jim, who has previously won the award three times, will now go on to compete in the next stage of the competition, the Seal of Excellence Awards.
Peter Diffley, Managing Director, Crest Nicholson Eastern, comments; “We are delighted that Jim has been recognised for his exceptional level of commitment and hard work in managing the building work at Rosewood. Homes at the development have a very contemporary design and a range of innovative eco-friendly features which all adds to the complexity of the build. Jim continues to do a fantastic job managing the team working on these homes, to ensure that they continue to be delivered to the very high standards for which Crest Nicholson is renowned.”
Jim commented: “I am absolutely delighted to have received this award and I’m looking forward to the next stage of the competition; it’s fantastic to have my efforts recognised by the NHBC. I am extremely proud to work at Rosewood and would like to take this opportunity to thank my team for their continued dedication and support which is invaluable to making the development such a success.”
Homes at Rosewood have been styled in a traditional village setting with very contemporary elevations. As a consequence they are being bought by a variety of purchasers from first time buyers and commuters to families and downsizers. With room sizes which are larger than many new and second hand homes, the properties provide spacious, light-filled living spaces.
The development is in a fantastic location for commuters with two train stations in the town both offering services into London Liverpool Street, from Colchester North Station the train takes just under an hour whilst Colchester Town station offers links in one hour, ten minutes. Colchester Town Station also runs trains to the nearby seaside resorts of Frinton-on-Sea and Walton-on-the-Naze. For those travelling by roads and air, the A12 is easily accessible from the town with a recently opened new access way, feeding into the M25 and the rest of the country while London Stansted Airport is less than an hour’s drive along the A120. The development is also within close proximity with Colchester Business Park, resulting in a very straightforward commute for workers.
Thanks to the environmentally-friendly features of the homes, the development has been awarded Code 4 in the Code for Sustainable Homes, which results in lower running costs and a reduction in environmental footprint.
