Crest Nicholson Eastern prides itself on ensuring that the homes it builds are exactly what house-hunters desire. From the number of bedrooms in the house to whether it’s detached or mews style, everything is taken into consideration. It also values the opinions of its customers, which is why it asked them to decide the layout of its four-bedroom Lavenham house type.
Hundreds of house-hunters were provided with the choice of two layouts. Although the first floor remained the same on both designs, with a family bathroom and four well-proportioned bedrooms – master featuring an en suite – it was the ground floor which featured differences.
Both homes have convenient cloakrooms, storage space and a handy utility room. The ground floor on Type A provided a more traditional floor plan, with a separate living, dining room and kitchen. Type B however, followed a more contemporary design, with the kitchen and dining area opened up into one big space. It seems this aspect of Type B appealed to house-hunters, as the majority overwhelmingly voted in favour of this floor plan.
Annette Cole, Sales & Marketing Director for Crest Nicholson Eastern, said: “Who better to advise us on the layout of our homes, than the house-hunters who will be potentially buying them? The Lavenham was one design we thought could work both ways, which is why we thought we’d leave the ultimate decision up to our customers.
“Open-plan living has become more popular year-on-year, so it’s not a surprise that Type B was the option most chose. Many find that the open-plan aspect gives the sense of greater space and light which, in a busy family home, is a desirable trait. Visitors can now look forward to seeing the design come to life in many of our developments.”
The new-style Lavenham will now be rolled out across Crest developments in the region, with the first one appearing at Kings Warren in Red Lodge this spring. House-hunters to The Hollies, in Harrietsham, Kent, which is launching this summer, will also be able to take a first-hand look at the home in May, as it will be transformed in to a stunning new show home.
