Jo Stroud, a customer operations manager for Britvic, needed a fresh start with her nine-year-old son Henry. Having lived in Hillmorton, Warwickshire, she wanted to stay local so that Henry could continue going to his school. As a second stepper, Jo wasn’t sure what incentives were available to her so looked into her options and eventually settled on a three-bedroom home at Crest Nicholson’s Hansford Park development in Houlton, Rugby. Her new home is a similar size to her previous house, and she paid £264,950 using the government-backed Help to Buy scheme.

She explains: “I wasn’t aware that Help to Buy was available for people like me who aren’t first time buyers, but the sales team ran me through the whole process and what incentives were available to me. Everyone I’ve dealt with has been so helpful which has really taken a lot of the stress out of moving. Without Help to Buy it would have taken me a lot longer to save up for the deposit, so it’s been a real bonus.”

Hansford Park benefits from a variety of amenities and things to do for families, with Jo and Henry particularly fond of the open green spaces and recently opened play area. They have also discovered a new favourite eatery where Henry and Jo are fast becoming regulars, as Jo explains: “Having the Tuning Fork right on our doorstep is great; Henry and I can go for a walk and then stop off on the way back for a coffee and one of the amazing homemade cakes.”

Jo continues: “The location is ideal for Henry and me – it’s 15 minutes to get to work and Henry’s school is just ten minutes away. When he’s old enough Henry will hopefully go to the secondary school that’s being built in Houlton.

“As well as the location, the house itself is fantastic, Henry’s got the bedroom with the big window and loves it. We’re looking forward to the summer as we’ve got a great garden and the French doors are perfect for when we have friends round and need some more space.”

Jo was so impressed with the help that she received from the sales team and the site manager that one of her friends has bought a neighbouring plot on her recommendation.

Hansford Park comprises a contemporary collection of one and two bedroom apartments, and two, three and four bedroom homes, ideal for young professionals, downsizers and families alike. Each home is contemporary in design, with floor to ceiling windows to maximise light and spacious open plan layouts, ideal for entertaining.

Prices at Hansford Park start from £161,950 for a one-bedroom apartment, with two-bedroom apartments from £179,950. Three-bedroom homes start at £276,950 and £409,950 for a four-bedroom home.
