Dorothy Chilton, a retired Deputy Head at Katharine Lady Berkeley’s School, has moved back to the local area after finding her dream home at Crest Nicholson’s Charfield Village. Living on Woodsland Road in Charfield for many years, Dorothy felt that now was the right time to move back to this much-loved village having moved away to look after her sister.

Dorothy had a good idea of what she was looking for when she picked the four-bedroom semi-detached Monksfield home at Charfield Village. She comments: “I was after somewhere with a garage and a minimum of two-bedrooms. But gardening is a real passion of mine too, so it had to have outdoor space.” Charfield Village is perfect for people with a love of gardening, with spacious gardens, green spaces and allotments available on-site.

After attending the launch event for Charfield Village, Dorothy made the decision to buy her new home off-plan, giving her the flexibility to choose her own fittings and furnishings. “I’d never bought off-plan before, and I hadn’t realised that doing so would give me so much more choice. My new home is all I could have wished for and more!”

The kitchen, which looks out over the garden, was a real selling point for Dorothy, who described the space as light and bright with personalised, white cupboards and walls. The master-bedroom comes with an en-suite bathroom, and enjoys spectacular views over the countryside. “It’s enormous, all of the bedrooms are! It means that I can have my family and friends to stay and give them plenty of room with their young families.”

Having lived in Gloucestershire for most of her life, Dorothy was keen to make the move back to the area, drawn to the rural lifestyle it offered. “I love the rural side of life here, I can take my dog out for country walks on the Cotswold Way, and still be close to cities like Bath, Bristol and Gloucestershire.” Positioned on the outskirts of the picturesque Charfield village, with the Little Avon River close by, Dorothy isn’t short of local amenities and countryside escapes.

Dorothy concluded by saying that “Charfield Village has been a great option for me in terms of value, quality and simplicity. The sales team at Crest Nicholson has been fantastic too, and made moving-in a pain-free process. Having retired, I wanted somewhere that I could walk straight into, that wouldn’t need a great deal of work doing to it. I’ve certainly found that at Charfield Village, and will stay here for years to come!”

Four bedroom homes at Charfield Village are available to move into now from £375,000 or just £300,000 using the Government’s Help to Buy scheme. For more information, call 01453 706955, or visit; charfieldvillage@crestnicholson.com
