Samantha Goldberg (42), a director for the NHS, recently purchased a three bedroom detached house at Crest Nicholson’s Kingsmead, located in the quintessential town of Faversham. The Covid-19 pandemic made Samantha re-evaluate her homebuying priorities and as she was looking for a fresh start and change of pace, she found her forever home in the oldest market town in Kent.

Samantha was previously living in a three bedroom home in St Mary’s Island, Chatham, and when searching for a new home she knew she wanted to be surrounded by greenery and be close to the sea. “Lockdown restrictions really made me re-evaluate what I was looking for in a home, and a garden and large expanses of green were at the top of my list. Kingsmead is surrounded by countryside which is ideal for weekend activities. I’ve even bought my first ever pair of wellies since moving to Faversham for when I go for long walks in the Kent Downs and the Oare Marshes Nature Reserve,” Samantha said.

Samantha commented: “When I was researching homes, I came across Faversham’s incredible history and knew I wanted to make it my home. Kingsmead caught my eye right away because all the homes had character and were well spaced across the development. On top of that I knew I wanted to purchase a new build because of the numerous benefits, including not having to think about renovations and having a blank canvas to put my stamp on.”

Kingsmead offers the best of modern living and speaking about the house’s design, Samantha continued: “The property boasts open plan living, and really bright and airy interiors. A big selling point were the large French doors that lead onto the large garden, which is ideal for when I’ll be able to entertain family and friends again. As I’m able to work from home once a week I decided to convert one of the bedrooms into a home office. It is great to have a dedicated space where I can work from!”

Faversham train station is located just over one mile from the development, providing excellent travel links. Canterbury can be reached in just 11 minutes, while direct trains reach London Victoria in just over an hour. Samantha added: “The development is very well connected and, as I often have to travel to different hospitals because of my job, it is great to have both a train station and the M2 easily accessible from my home.”

“There is a great community at the development, and I couldn’t have picked better neighbours! Everyone is extremely kind and always available to lend a helping hand no matter what. It’s heart-warming to know I can count on the people around me, especially in these hard times,” Samantha said. Known for its strong community spirit, Faversham is a thriving town in Kent. Residents at Kingsmead will enjoy a variety of amenities on their doorstep, including a variety of independent and chain shops, pubs and farm shops.

Prices at Kingsmead start from £307,000 for a two bedroom home, from £387,500 for a three bedroom home and £475,000 for a four bedroom home.
