Crest Nicholson welcomes pupils of Cannington Primary School to discover the behind the scenes of building homes

Award winning housebuilder Crest Nicholson has welcomed the pupils of Cannington Primary School to its Grange Meadows development in Somerset, showing the children how houses are built.

The children of Cannington Primary School were shown Grange Meadows and had an enjoyable day out learning more about housebuilding and the local community. The children were able to get an insight into the behind the scenes of how real homes are built, complete with high visibility jackets to take home with them after the visit.

Continuing its support, Crest Nicholson has also made a donation of toys to Cannington Pre-School for its recently created sandpit area. The children are now able to enjoy some brilliant new toys, including bio trucks, bio trackers, tinkering blocks, giant scales and funnels to create an engaging outside environment and promote outdoor learning.

Located in Bridgwater, Somerset, Cannington Primary School and Pre-school are considered to be ‘eco- school’s that focus on the teaching of kindness, the planet and the outside environment, promoting both indoors and outdoor education. The Pre-School is a charity run organisation that sits within the Cannington C of E Primary School grounds, providing the local community with childcare and fun and engaged educational works spaces. The pre–school and primary school are located close to Crest Nicholson’s Grange Meadows development.

Clare Brimble, Sales and Marketing Director at Crest Nicholson South West, comments: “We were really pleased to be able to support Cannington Pre-School and Primary School and continue to build strong relationships with local schools and the community. At Crest Nicholson, we are not only committed to building homes but supporting local people. It’s great to see the children enjoy the donation of toys and seeing their faces looking around our Grange Meadows development, where we have built some fantastic family homes.”

Lisa Parks from Cannington Primary School, said: “We’d like to thank Crest Nicholson and the team at the Grange Meadows development for showing us around the site, the children loved exploring the development and learning more about how homes are built from the ground up.”
