Site layout of Wheatley development

Local housebuilder Crest Nicholson has received planning approval to deliver 447 zero-carbon ready new homes in Wheatley, Oxford.

Located next to Oxford Brookes University the development will bring a mix of one-to-five bedroom homes and apartments, with 35% allocated as affordable housing. Homes will benefit from sustainable features such as Air Source Heat Pumps and Electric Vehicle Charging Points.

In addition to the high-quality new homes, the development will offer extensive open spaces, including cricket and football pitches, a bowls green, and children’s play areas. Crest Nicholson is also committing £5 million towards improvements to local roads, schools, and public transport infrastructure.

Nicholas Daruwalla, Land Director for Crest Nicholson South said:

"We’re delighted to have received planning permission for this development. Our design-led approach has been at the heart of every step in the process, reflecting the character of the area while delivering much-needed, high-quality new homes to community.”

The site is ideally located seven miles from Oxford city centre and less than two miles from the M40 motorway. Work is anticipated to start in 2026 with the first homes due for completion towards the end of 2027.
