Crest Nicholson has made a valuable donation to assist the Derry Hill & Studley Heartbeat foundation with the purchase of a defibrillator unit for the Bowood Gate community.

The £500 donation provides for a quarter of the funds needed for the full system to be installed, and the charity hopes it will spark further donations from other businesses in the area.

The Derry Hill & Studley Heartbeat is Wiltshire’s local volunteer organisation that provides, maintains and supports the defibrillators within the community. It is entirely dependent on donations to purchase and maintain these lifesaving kits.

John Baumber, Committee Member at Derry Hill & Studley Heartbeat, said: “We are delighted to announce that Crest Nicholson is supporting us to install a defibrillator unit at the prestigious Bowood Gate development.

“When someone suffers a cardiac arrest, every minute’s delay in restarting the heart results in a reduction of around 7% in the chances of survival. Crest Nicholson’s Bowood Gate development is bringing new life and vibrancy to the Derry Hill & Studley community and we hope to soon deliver the residents access to this potentially life-saving equipment.”

Sandra Dixon, Sales and Marketing Director at Crest Nicholson South West, said: “We are pleased to be supporting the local community, having contributed a quarter of the funds needed for a defibrillator unit for the Bowood Gate. We hope our donation will lead to further donations to this worthwhile initiative.”

Bowood Gate offers a collection of traditional four bedroom homes in Wiltshire. The development benefits from excellent schools, amenities, and commuter links to Chippenham, Swindon and beyond. Prices range from £384,000 - £489,000. For more information please call 01249 586000 or visit www.crestnicholson.com/developments/bowood-gate.
