Charlotte (28) and her husband, Harry (33), recently moved from Milton Keynes to Fuller’s Grove in East Challow, Oxfordshire. The couple used Part Exchange to sell Charlotte’s house in the city and purchase a brand new four bedroom ‘Somerton’ house, just in time for the birth of their new baby.

The couple were renting in East Challow, with Charlotte also paying the mortgage on her previous home in Milton Keynes, and were struggling to sell it during lockdown due to restrictions on house viewings. However, with the news of Charlotte’s pregnancy, both were eager to find a buyer and move out to the countryside before the baby’s due date in October. Speaking about buying their home Charlotte explains: “The whole process was smooth. We were able to have a socially distanced tour of the property, which gave us a good feel for the home and the development. We reserved the property in June, completed on 31st July and moved in the next day. Having both grown up in Oxfordshire, the couple were keen to purchase a property near their hometowns. We can reach Oxford in just 30 minutes by car and we can easily get to London in 40 minutes from Didcot Parkway Station, which is a short drive away.”


Charlotte, a chartered accountant, and Harry, a commercial manager, were also impressed by the  interior design. Charlotte explains: “Harry and I were looking for a property with large rooms and space that could be flexible with our lifestyles, particularly given that we’re both working from home at the moment. We’ve converted the fourth bedroom into an office, which easily fits in two desks, so we both have our own workspaces. Our house is also on a corner plot so the dual aspect means that all the rooms are really light and the open plan kitchen-diner will be perfect for entertaining guests in the future.”


Charlotte concludes: “The best thing about buying a new build was that everything was ready for us to move in. Our house was going to be the next show home so we so we got all the furniture included and all we’ve had to do is decorate and get ready for our new baby!”
