Alice Dean and her husband, Matt Curgenven, recently moved to Crest Nicholson’s Birchen Oak development in Lindfield. Having previously occupied a two-bedroom duplex apartment built by Crest Nicholson, the couple found their transition to West Sussex “really easy and supportive,” as they chose to upsize using Crest Nicholson’s Part Exchange scheme to secure their dream home.

The couple found they had outgrown their previous apartment and Alice said, “we needed to find a home that met our needs, and that is what we found at Birchen Oak.” A big part of the appeal was their desire “to leave London” and enjoy the relaxing country lifestyle in West Sussex.

Alice, who works in Marketing and is based in Holborn, and Matt, a Financial Services expert in Belgravia, both work in central London, making transport links a top priority. They were looking for an ideal location to suit their commuter lifestyles, and Birchen Oak offered “everything they had hoped for” from the countryside, while only extending their commutes by 10-minutes. Haywards Heath is perfectly positioned as it sits on the Brighton main line, which offers easy routes into central London, with both London Bridge and Victoria stations just under an hour’s train ride away.

The buying process was a bit of “a rollercoaster ride” for Matt and Alice before they used Part Exchange to purchase their four-bedroom detached home. Crest Nicholson stepped in to “save the day” when the buyer of their previous apartment fell through. The Sales team at Birchen Oak was able to keep the dream alive for the couple and took all the hassle out of the moving process. When looking for their new home they visited several new build developments across Kent and Surrey before settling on West Sussex as they found “the build quality of Crest Nicholson was so much higher.”

Their new home caught Alice and Matt’s eye because of the “beautiful” interiors and spacious garden. While Alice fell in love with the modern fixtures and fittings, particularly the open-plan living space, Matt was struck by the outdoor area which easily acted as a “blank canvas” for the couple to really make their own. The couple is excited to now start work on their garden in preparation for Spring 2019. “We absolutely love the property,” said Matt, “a large home in a secluded area, next to an amazing town and great links, we couldn’t have asked for more!”

Four-bedroom homes at Birchen Oak are available from £649,950, while prices for five-bedroom homes begin at £889,950. For more information about the development or the Part Exchange scheme, please call 01444 708 721 or visit www.crestnicholson.com/birchenoak/.
