In his career, Joseph Thompson (25) is used to travelling and being constantly on the move. However, he has recently put down roots and purchased his first home, a beautiful two bedroom apartment at Crest Nicholson’s popular Bath Riverside development in the city centre. Having recently moved from Dublin to Bristol airport for work six months ago, Joseph was keen to find a home with good commuting connections, which would allow him to keep up his jet-setting career with ease.

Having saved up over the past two years whilst living in Dublin, Joseph was keen to make his first step on the property ladder. When he first moved to Bath Joseph rented for six months, whilst keeping an eye out for properties in the area. He came across Bath Riverside whilst strolling along the river, walked into the sales and marketing suite and had reserved within a week.

Joseph was immediately drawn to the layout and design of the apartment, impressed by the amount of space and natural light including the large windows which allows him to see both sunrise and sunset. He comments: “The design of the apartment really stood out to me compared to other properties I had seen. The specification and fittings throughout the property are high-end, including a Candy wine cooler, Siemens kitchen appliances, Villeroy & Boch bathrooms and built-in wardrobes.  There is a long corridor which separates the main bedroom from the lounge area, which is great for me when I need some quiet due to the hours that I work. There is also an office area which my girlfriend uses to work from home when she stays over.”

Joseph cites the position of the property as a major benefit, saying: “The location is perfect. The city centre is a five minute walk away and I’m on the correct side of the city to drive and miss the traffic, so my commute to Bristol airport is only 40 minutes. My girlfriend commutes to and from London when she stays, so she can get from Bath Spa Station to London Paddington in an hour and a half, which is ideal.”

Speaking about the local area and amenities, Joseph says: “The park is a stone’s throw away, which is lovely. The coffee shop on site is also really nice and my girlfriend often uses the gym at the development. Everything we need is right on the doorstep!”

As a first time buyer, Joseph mentions the ease of the buying process and the friendliness of the sales team. He emphasizes: “Even when I was on holiday, someone from the sales team offered to show my mother around the development. They were really friendly, responsive and allowed me to come in several times to view the apartment before moving in. The government backed Help to Buy Equity loan also made moving that much easier, as it reduced my initial mortgage.”

Crest Nicholson’s Bath Riverside is perfect for those looking to move to a fantastic city location on the banks of the River Avon, while maintaining good rail connections to Bristol and London. Two-bedroom apartments are still available to buy with prices starting at £500,000.
