Crest Nicholson’s Bath Riverside development has won Bronze for Best Regeneration Scheme at the 38th annual WhatHouse? Awards, held on 15th November 2019 at Grosvenor House Hotel, London.

The annual WhatHouse? Awards brings together over 1,700 industry professionals to celebrate the best new home developments in Britain. Astronaut Tim Peake hosted the event alongside the comedian and television presenter, Dara Ó Briain. The Best Regeneration Scheme category showcases outstanding examples of housebuilder’s championing urban or rural regeneration, as well as growth and renewal.

In their report, the WhatHouse? Awards Judging Panel commented on Bath Riverside: “Unsurprisingly, local authorities get very nervous about development in England’s only World Heritage City; however, the trust they showed in Crest Nicholson was not misplaced. The fact that the site had been derelict for 25 years reflects the scale of the challenge that Crest Nicholson undertook when it signed up to redevelop the former gasworks. It also illustrates what is possible with the right developer. Bath Riverside offers sumptuous flats, private pockets of greenery and lavish communal spaces; however, its biggest asset is direct access to Bath’s famous riverside.

Set on the banks of the river Avon, the developer revived the canal path giving locals a more scenic route into the city centre. The development has also generously donated to the public realm with the opening of a new park. The new development looks at ease in its surroundings and Bath’s rich history is honoured with architectural details inspired by the city’s Georgian splendour. The Romans set the bar for Bath’s built environment some 2,000 years ago, and Crest Nicholson seems to be continuing the legacy.”

Marcus Evans, Sales & Marketing Director at Crest Nicholson Regeneration commented: “We are thrilled to have received the Bronze Award for Best Regeneration Scheme for the stunning Bath Riverside. This is a fantastic achievement for a truly special project.  We are extremely proud of Bath Riverside and the work we do at Crest Nicholson Regeneration, striving to make a real difference by transforming challenging sites into thriving new communities.”

Located on the banks of the River Avon, Bath Riverside is a striking £600 million development, comprising 2,000 homes, as well as a new school, energy centre, commercial units and acres of public space.  The previously unused 44-acre stretch of riverside on the site of the former Stothert and Pitt crane manufacturing plant is now a desirable residential quarter and vibrant new community.

Currently offering two bedroom apartments and a stunning two bedroom penthouse, external design takes its inspiration from the distinctive character of the city’s famed Georgian buildings. Blending the traditional curvature of Bath’s existing vernacular with cutting-edge architecture, the development is one of the very few in Bath’s city centre and presents a rare opportunity to purchase a new waterside home in this sought-after historic city.

Apartments in Sovereign Point at Bath Riverside are selling fast and are currently available from £500,000. For this month only Crest Nicholson is offering prospective purchasers to spend a day at one of the stunning two-bedroom apartments. To find out more information call 01225 463 517.
