Hannah Coventry (38) and her husband Anthony (40) moved to a brand new four bedroom home at Crest Nicholson’s Kegworth Gate development in Leicestershire with their two children Daisy (5) and Alfred (1).
Originally from Nottingham, the couple moved to the village of Kegworth six years ago in order to be closer to Hannah’s parents who had moved there previously. The family’s decision to upsize from their old three bedroom home was sparked by a desire to find their forever home as their family grew. With lockdown putting paid to the family’s planned holidays and highlighting how space at home was crucial, they decided to use their holiday money to move houses instead.
Hannah commented: “We had decided we needed a bigger home with more space for Daisy and Alfie to play in, but we hadn’t anticipated being able to move so quickly. With three holidays cancelled – including a trip to Ibiza for Anthony’s 40th birthday – we were able to put this money towards our new home. Once we’d made our mind up that we wanted to move we acted quickly and the team at Crest Nicholson helped make this possible. We visited the development just as lockdown lifted on 3rd July and had reserved by the 10th, and we were fortunate that our old house sold pretty much straight away.”
One of the most important factors towards being able to buy their new home was the Stamp Duty holiday. Hannah commented: “Not having to pay Stamp Duty meant we had more money to put towards a bigger home, so we were able to buy a Somerton housetype instead of the Avon that we’d originally viewed.”
Moving into a bigger home has allowed Hannah and Anthony to utilise the spare rooms flexibly, with Hannah commenting: “We both love boxing so Anthony has a plan to convert our garage into a gym for us to workout. The kids have started to enjoy hitting punchbags as well so we’re looking forward to spending some family time together getting fit. I also want to turn the spare room into a dressing room so I’ve got somewhere to keep my clothes and get ready in the mornings, but I think the gym is the priority at the moment.”
Hannah and Anthony are big fans of the local area having lived there since 2014. Hannah commented: “The community in Kegworth is fantastic. For Halloween recently there was a special trail for the kids to follow as they couldn’t go trick or treating, which they loved. There’s so much green space around the village – our house overlooks the fields on Long Lane – but we’re still just a 15 minute drive from Nottingham and Derby.”
